WordPress website development for web designers

As you can imagine, there are quite a few assets and resources I will need from you, including page designs, a features and functionality guide, website copy and imagery.

But don’t worry; I’ll share a list of exactly what I’ll need from you and your client once we have booked the project.

I recommend that you use a prototyping tool such as Figma or Adobe XD, or a design tool such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.

The important thing is I need to be able to extract accurate information from the designs.

I do not accept designs created in Canva.

You don’t need to pick a WordPress theme/template. Building a custom WordPress theme is included in this service.

Pre-made themes can be restrictive, and they often come with lots of features and functionality that your client doesn’t need. To ensure that we get the best possible results for your client and create a website that looks exactly like your designs, a custom WordPress theme is the best solution.

If you would like me to build the website using specific WordPress theme then I’m not the developer for you.

Unfortunately, I don’t work with third-party page builders like Divi, Elementor, WP Bakery and Visual Composer.

Instead, I build all of my WordPress website using the block editor that is built-in to WordPress. Using the block editor allows us to create highly optimised websites without the need for third-party page builders that can have a negative impact on website speed, which in turn has an impact on SEO and user experience.

The block editor also makes it easy for your clients to edit their own websites without touching a single line of code. The WordPress block editor is actually more robust than you may think!

My process typically takes 6 weeks, but this may be longer depending on the functionality and features that are required.

These 6 weeks are broken down as:

• 3 weeks for the initial development
• 2 weeks for revisions
• 1 week for training and installation

While I don’t offer website hosting services myself (it’s best for the client to own their own hosting account!) I am more than happy to recommend a trusted hosting provider to your client. I assist them with the purchase of their hosting package, and I will help get everything set up for them, including connecting their domain and installing WordPress.

Yes, I can help your client move from another website platform such as Squarespace, Wix, ShowIt, Shopify, etc to WordPress.

If your client already has a WordPress website up and running.

No offence taken! While I can offer true white-label development, where your client has no idea I built their website for them and I have no communication with them, it can end up being more work for you.

However, if you still want to work with me on a true white-label basis, please let me know when you enquire and we can discuss how we can make this possible.

I offer monthly website maintenance and support retainers.

Once I’ve built your client’s website, they can access my support services any time.

To secure your project I take a 30% deposit upfront, and then 30% is due before the start date for development.

The final 40% is due once the website has been developed and the revision rounds are complete. This final payment must be paid in full before I will install the website on the client’s hosting account.

Of course! There’s nothing worse than owning a website that you can’t edit yourself!

I develop my WordPress website using the WordPress block editor which makes it easy for clients to edit and update their content as they wish. I’ll also provide your client with training videos so they’ll know exactly how to use their new website.
